Summary, etc Dünya’nın Merkezine Yolculuk Profesör Lidenbrock’a acayip, garip, şaşkın, deli ya da üşütük demek biraz haksızlık olurdu. Şahsına münhasır tanımı bu ünlü bilim adamı için daha uygun gibiydi. Gerçi biraz çılgın ya da tuhaf olduğunu düşünenler de vardı, ama sonuçta bu şaşırtıcı adam döneminin en saygın bilimcilerinden biriydi. Doğa tarihi müzesine benzeyen evinde kendisi gibi başarılı bir bilimci olan yeğeni Axel’le yaşıyordu. Axel amcasının tersine mantıklı, risk almayı sevmeyen, sakin bir delikanlıydı. Üniversitede güvenli bir iş ve güzel nişanlısıyla evlenmekten başka bir isteği yoktu. Ancak bir gün sahaftan aldığı eski bir kitabın içinden çıkan parşömen parçası, Profesör Lidenbrock ve yeğenini nefes kesici bir maceraya sürükleyecekti. Eğlenceli, heyecanlı, harika bir macera!..
