1940'lı yıllarda Giza'da bulunan bir "yıldız kapısı", yer altında bir mağarada saklanmakta ve nasıl işlediği üzerine çalışmalar yapılmaktadır. Ta ki Mısır tarihi uzmanı Daniel Jackson ekibe katılana dek... Jackson'ın kapıyı işler hale getirmesi ile dünya ve milyonlarca ışık yılı uzaktaki bir galaksi arasında bağlantı kurulur. Albay Jack O'Neil komutasındaki bir grup asker ve Daniel Jackson açılan kapıdan geçerek diğer tarafı keşfetme görevini üstlenirler. Hiç ummadıkları bir dünya ile karşılaşan ekibin görevi kapının diğer taraftan açılmamak üzere kapatılmasıdır ve bunu bilen tek kişi albaydır. Bu dünyanın hakimi Ra'nın dünyaya açılan kapının tekrar işlediğini fark etmesiy albay ve ekibini dönüşü olmayan bir mücadelenin içine iter. |
