Summary, etc Ulusal Tarih Müzesinin karanlık koridorları belki de en inanılmaz günlerini yaşıyordu. Hepsi dondurulmuş gibi ya da dondurulmadılar mı acaba? Bir aksiyon komedi filmi olan "Müzede Bir Gece", Ulusal Tarih Müzesinin yeni gece bekçisi Larry, tüm ziyaretçiler evlerine gittiklerinde asıl maceranın başladığına tanık olacaktır. Hayatı boyunca fantastic maceralar peşinde koşmuş olan Larry Daley (BEN STILLER),unların ona hiçbir çıkar sağlamadığını ve bu yüzden işssiz kalıp oğlunu göremeyecek duruma geldiğini fark edince gerçek bir iş arayışına girer. Rüyalarındaki büyük hayalin bir gün onu bulacağından emindir. Fakat böyle bir hayalin bu kadar canlı ve heyecanlı gerçekleşeceğinden tabii ki haberi yoktu… İşindeki ilk gecesinde büyükçe bir el feneri ve aşırı kullanılmaktan yıpranmış bir kullanım klavuzu ile koskaca müzede tek başına kalır. En azından o yalnız olduğunu düşünmektedir. Fakat bir dakika , bu ses de ne? Larry bütün şaşkınlığı ile koskoca müzedeki tüm yaratıkların teker teker canlanmasına şahit olacaktır…Dünya tarihinin en korkunç yaratığı T-Rex, Hun İmparatoru Atilla , kaplanlar, maymunlar ve bir müzede tarihe karıştığını düşündüğünüz her şey taker taker koridorlarda dolaşmaya başlayacaktır. Tarihin sayfaları içinden çıkan yüzlerce karakterin içinde yalnızca Teddy Roosevelt (ROBIN WILLIAMS) ona bu kaosun sebebini ve çözümleme yolunu gösterecektir. Tekrar işini kaybetmekten ve bu yüzden oğlu Nick’i görememekten korkan Larry müzeyi zarar görmeden korumaya ve işine devam etmeye karar verecektir.
