Summary, etc IRA ile ilgili olarak çekilmiş filmde, Bobby Sands'in insanlık dışı muamelelere maruz kalışındaki sertliği adeta yaşıyorsunuz. Diyalogsuz sahnelerin vuruculuğu ile başlayan film, tüm filme yayılan dehşetli gerçeklik duygusu ile izleyeni kavrıyor. Mahkumların battaniye ve yıkanmama eylemleriyle ilerleyen direnişleri, altı hafta süren açlık grevi ile doruğa çıkıyor. Hayatı mücadele ile geçmiş Sands’ın kendi vücudunu yaşamının son savaş alanı olarak addedmesiyle yaşanan dramatik süreç muazzam bir etkileyicilikle gözler önüne seriliyor. Filmin etkileyiciliği sadece Sands önderliğindeki mahkumların direniş destanından ibaret değil. Zira hapishane mahkumlar için olduğu kadar gardiyanlar için de tam bir cehennem. Gardiyanların da alt üst olmuş psikolojisini izliyoruz filmde.
