Bu gidişat aldığı bir haberle son bulur. Arabasıyla çıktığı yolda kendini, hayatını ve sahip olduğu her şeyi sorgulamasına yol açan bu haberin ağırlığıyla mücadele ederken bir yandan da işiyle ilgili bir krizle uğraşmaktadır. Şirketi oldukça zarara sokabilecek bu krizi soğukkanlılıkla çözmeye çalışır. Ama yalın ve basit çözümler ve hiç kaybetmediği süküneti karşı tarafı sakinleştirmeye yetmez. Ivan Locke o telefon konuşması sırasında kariyerinin ve hayatının en zorlu sınavıyla karşı karşıya gelir. Arabasının içinde, kısa bir süre içerisinde gerçekleşecek olan felaketi durdurmak için zamana karşı koyma mücadelesi başlar. Öte yandan da tek başına çıktığı yolculukta kendi geçmişiyle de bir hesaplaşma içine girer. Tom Hardy'nin başrolünde yer aldığı film tek mekanda, Ivan Locke karakterinin arabasında geçiyor. Bu iddialı yapımın yönetmen koltuğu ise Hummingbird filmiyle ilk yönetmenlik deneyimini gerçekleştiren senarist Steven Knight bulunuyor.
