Summary, etc Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s historical struggle to secure voting rights for all people. A dangerous and terrifying campaign that culminated with an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1964.
Summary, etc 1965'te Alabama eyaletinin Selma kentinden eyalet başkentine giden 87 km'lik bir yol vardı. Bu yolda o dönem ABD tarihine geçen üç protesto yürüyüşü gerçekleştirildi. Martin Luther King'in öncülük ettiği bu yürüyüşler, kamuoyunu harekete geçirdi ve dönemin ABD Başkanı Johnson Oy Hakkı Kanunu konusunda köşeye sıkıştı. Nihayetinde protestolar etkili oldu ve kanun çıktı. Değişen Amerika'nın hikayesini anlatan filmin yönetmenliğini Ava DuVernay'ın üstlenirken filmin senaryosu Paul Webb'e ait. Filmin başrolünde David Oyelowo yer alırken Tim Roth, Tom Wilkinson, Oprah Winfrey, Martin Sheen, Carmen Ejogo, Cuba Gooding Jr. gibi isimler zengin oyuncu kadrosunda kendisine eşlik ediyor. Bu epik ve tarihi yapımın prodüktörlüğünü ise “12 Yıllık Esaret / 12 Years A Slave” filminin yapımcıları üstleniyor.
